ICELAND - Geysir Hot Springs

August 30, 2016

As part of our ring road tour of the Golden Circle we stopped off at the Geysir Hot Springs.

This is a very popular tourist spot and you see many smiling faces walking back down the track after seeing the eruption of the great Geysir.

It doesn't take long to see the great Geysir erupt, maybe around every 5 to 7 minutes when we were there.  Everyone stands there in anticipation and many times you think it's about to happen, only for the bubbles to stop again.  Everyone's cameras are in the ready and once the eruption happens, you can hear the clicks of the cameras trying to capture the phenomenon.

I was too close to the Geysir to get the great photos photographers dream of, but that's not always the important part of travelling.

The start.....waiting in anticipation....and below the sequence of events as they unfold.

I was too close to get the full effect of the great Geysir eruption.

I loved these two rock signs.

About Me

I'm an avid traveller based on the Gold Coast, Australia.  I love my photography.  My other passions involve outdoor activities, including snowboarding, surfing and  wakeboarding.  You'll find me riding every morning, swimming as much as I can and loving late night walks with my pups along the beach front.  Wildlife and nature amaze me and my favourite time is spent in the wilderness.
