About Me

I'm an avid traveller based on the Gold Coast, Australia.  I love my photography.  My other passions involve outdoor activities, including snowboarding, surfing and  wakeboarding.  You'll find me riding every morning, swimming as much as I can and loving late night walks with my pups along the beach front.  Wildlife and nature amaze me and my favourite time is spent in the wilderness.

We were so looking forward to the helicopter flight.  We had taken the helicopter (doors off) on the Big Island to see the volcano and what an experience. Our pilot on The Big Island was an ex Airforce Pilot and he certainly gave us a thrilling ride.

If you've been following any of my other blogs, you will know we always hire a car (which our friends give us a hard time over, but we like road tripping).  I'm always the dri...

Is Monument Valley on your bucket list......well it should be.  For many, it's a life long dream.  With sandstone buttes, colossal mesas, and panoramic vistas, Monument Valley has captured the imagination of photographers and film makers for decades.  It is well known for being one of the USA’s iconic landscapes.

A visit to Monument Valley will afford you more than a few snapshots and pretty scene...

Yellowstone’s abundant and diverse wildlife are as famous as its geysers. It is reported that there are nearly 300 species of birds, 16 species of fish, five species of amphibians, six species of reptiles, and 67 species of mammals—including seven native ungulate species and two bear species.

We love our wildlife and can spend hours, days and weeks immersing our-self into their natural habitats.  We spend a lot of time research...

The rain was falling hard when we woke, but that wasn't going to deter our enthusiasm for our next adventure.  An early morning start followed by a quick breakfast, before boarding a private shuttle which would take us from Kenai Riverside to Seward.  We would then board a chartered water taxi to take us and about 10 other people to Aialik Bay.

This next adventure presented us with some of the most amazing scenery, wildlif...

Moreton Island is such a wonderful place for families, couples and individuals to visit.

A quick glimpse for Tangalooma from the water.

Fishing from the jetty.

Fishing from the beaches.

Very proud of the catch.

Sand making skills.

Relaxing and paddling.

Every time I see a Hot Air Balloon, I watch them with awe as they gracefully glide through the sky towards the horizon, thinking one day I will do that.  Well, my daughters obviously picked up on my frequent upward glances and arranged a joint Mother's Day/Birthday present for two.

Now you just can't fly these glamorous balloons whenever you feel like it, so it did take about 2 months before we finally had to set our alarm for...

Tangalooma Wrecks, ONE of southeast Queensland’s most iconic tourism spots, is the perfect spot to explore, admire with a sense of mystery, and imagine what happened to the rusting bones of old ship hulls.

Fifteen vessels were deliberately sunk to form a breakwall for small boats, whilst also creating an amazing wreck dive and snorkel site. Snorkelling and scuba diving at this site is an incredible adventure. The crystal clear...

I just love watching sunrises and sunsets.  I can't decide which I like the best.  The invigorating feeling of waking up early to catch the sun rise and shine light onto a new day.  The sunsets however, display the fading of a day that you have just experienced. The sunsets in Australia, with Moreton Island being no exception, are so stunning, with red hot fiery skies.

The pictures below are some of the sunsets we enc...

Congratulations Christine and Steven on the exchanging of your vows.  It has taken 17 years and the two of you have experienced such wonderful times together, which has culminated in such a beautiful wedding day with family and friends.

So glad we could share in your precious day.

When there's no fresh Pow on the slopes in Niseko, you take a quick one and a half hour drive from Hirafu to Otaru. Though in all honesty, you don't need any excuses to make the journey to Otaru (小樽) and visit any of its many outstanding attractions: the magnificent canal area, the Nikka Whiskey Distillery, the city museum or just soak in the atmosphere by walking down the magnificent streets and feasting on an array of delici...
