About Me

I'm an avid traveller based on the Gold Coast, Australia.  I love my photography.  My other passions involve outdoor activities, including snowboarding, surfing and  wakeboarding.  You'll find me riding every morning, swimming as much as I can and loving late night walks with my pups along the beach front.  Wildlife and nature amaze me and my favourite time is spent in the wilderness.

Kauai is home to some incredible sea life including Blue whales, Killer whales, Sperm whales, Pilot whales, Bottlenose dolphins and Striped dolphins.  Unfortunately on this trip to Kauai, we did not have time to see these incredible fish.  Instead we experienced the wonderful bird life on the Island including native songbirds, tropical birds, and the island’s infamous hordes of wild chickens.

The red-ta...

We were so looking forward to the helicopter flight.  We had taken the helicopter (doors off) on the Big Island to see the volcano and what an experience. Our pilot on The Big Island was an ex Airforce Pilot and he certainly gave us a thrilling ride.

If you've been following any of my other blogs, you will know we always hire a car (which our friends give us a hard time over, but we like road tripping).  I'm always the dri...

Destination Hawaii - here we come.  We've been to Hawaii on several occasions, spending time in Oahu, Maui and the Big Island.  This vacation we chose to stay at Kauai for 3 days and then head back to Oahu to meet up with our children and grandchildren.

We normally fly Jetstar from Sydney, but this time chose to fly Hawaiian Airlines. A 10 hour flight from Sydney to Honolulu and then a 2 hour stop over (which was...

Is Monument Valley on your bucket list......well it should be.  For many, it's a life long dream.  With sandstone buttes, colossal mesas, and panoramic vistas, Monument Valley has captured the imagination of photographers and film makers for decades.  It is well known for being one of the USA’s iconic landscapes.

A visit to Monument Valley will afford you more than a few snapshots and pretty scene...

After a fantastic day exploring Capital Reef Resort, we arrived in Moab to overpowering structures of deep red rock formations looming high above us. The overpowering urge to check out some of these amazing red rock landscapes took over quickly, and we opted to forgo checking in to our accommodation, and instead explore before the last light from the sun faded low into the sky.

Arches National Park is locate...

After leaving Bryce Canyon we had made our way to Torrey, Utah for a one night stop. Don't rule out spending more time in Capitol Reef National Park however, as it is a hidden treasure filled with many fascinating natural structures - cliffs, canyons, domes, and bridges in the Waterpocket Fold.

We were pushed for time, hence only one night in this stunning area, but as the trip from Torrey to Moab is only ab...

After an amazing, and too short a time at Zion National Park, we left way too late to head to our next stop Bryce Canyon. Leaving the Canyon overlook about 5.30pm it should have taken around 1 hour 20 minutes to reach Bryce Canyon, but there were stops due to the stunning scenery, which meant we arrived around 7.45pm.  It was extremely dark (pitch black in fact) and we couldn't find the turn off for Bryce Canyon Lodge.  We end...

The American road trip - stunning landscapes, scenery that we had never experienced before and places that were unforgettable, unbelievable and breathtakingly beautiful.  As we entered the Valley of Fire State Park, we saw our first red rocks and what an amazing sight, with so many more to follow.  However, before we could experience these natural wonders, we had to make our way from Los Angeles to Las Vegas and what better wa...

After a year of planning and patiently waiting for this trip, the anticipation and excitement was building as we left the Gold Coast at 4am for our early morning flight to Los Angeles.

We were about to embark on a road trip from Las Vegas through to Phoenix, stopping at the national parks and then moving on to Polar Bear country in Hudson Bay, Churchill.  After spending a week with the polar bears we would fly back to Sa...

I fell in love with the Snow Monkeys on my very first visit to Japan many years ago; and now I cannot visit Japan without spending a day or more sitting, watching and taking many photographs of these gorgeous, fun loving creatures.

The babies are adorable with their cheeky grins, their playful antics and are so inquisitive about everything around them.

The Snow Monkeys' facial expressions are priceles...
