ITALY - The Path of the Gods

Whilst in Positano or anywhere along the Amalfi coastline, I would recommend doing this walk.

Path of the Gods - heavenly - okay I know that’s a pun, but the walk and the views are “to die for”. We took the ferry to Amalfi and then the bus to Bomerano and started the climb up. You can walk the way we did or from Positano. If you walk from Positano, you always have the view to the back of you, so I would suggest the way we did it was better. It’s not easy and it’s not hard. It took us about 6 hours from start to finish. We took our food and had lunch and afternoon tea along the way – best restaurant views I’ve ever had.

The walk can be completed much quicker than the time it took us. We like to wander and walk off the beaten track exploring. I have read you can complete the walk in around 2 to 3 hours if you take the bus back from Nocelle.

The end of the Path of the Gods finishes in Nocelle. We obviously hadn't had enough walking that day and decided to walk back from Nocelle to Positano. You can catch a bus, but what’s the fun in that. We were told there were 2000 stairs to descend into Positano from Montepertuso. I lost count, but my legs told me there were more than 2000.

This picture and those below are some of the magnificent views we encountered on our walk.

One of the ways to get home if you live along the "Path of the Gods".

The moon was out very early on our walk home, which I couldn't resist capturing.

The best view for lunch
